I had my fantastic wingman, Tassia, with me today to support me, and it's slightly freakish how we transformed from two shy teenage girls approaching people, to being able to bounce on up to groups and ask to get their portraits without a care in the world!
I'm officially over the halfway mark (63 strangers so far and counting!) so it's exciting times - it can only be downhill from here....

Age: 23
Jinx was playing guitar outside of Macy's with some friends, trying to make some money. He's been playing guitar for 13 years.
Stranger 61:
Name: Kenny
Age: very old
When we met Kenny he was on his way to get the MAX to go visit his 11 year old daughter in Hillsboro. He loved the fact that I was from Liverpool and really enjoys the scouse punk scene. I was especially impressed with his hair.

Age: 19
Moustaf is a criminal law student at PSU who currently lives in Beaverton. He was supposed to be meeting a friend at Pioneer Square. He has cousins who live in London and hopes to go visit them this summer.

Shae just had her birthday in March. Her glasses are actually prescription and really cool. I was quite jealous of the look she was rocking today.

I couldn't help thinking that these two were absolutely adorable!
Stranger 53:
Name: Cameron
Age: 18
Cameron was spending time on the park blocks scaring pigeons and hanging out with friends.
Stranger 52:
Name: Ethan
Age: 17
Ethan was hanging out with his friends.
This is a pigeon. He doesn't have a name. He loves noodles. He has lots of friends, but really they are all only with him for his noodles.
And sometimes, when you've been busy (like me) and stressed (like me) you just have to stop and smell the flowers once in a while.

Age: 17
Nicky was hanging out in Powell's. He's a high school senior visiting Oregon from San Jose because he's considering going to Reed college.
Stranger 50: (YESSSSSSS - getting halfway was the sweetest feeling ever. Never have I been so happy!)
Name: Hugh
Age: 27
Hugh was browsing the in the photography section in Powell's because he just got paid and wanted to treat himself. He has "Good Lord" tattooed on his knuckles, but he wouldn't let me take a picture with the tats because he said it was "too cheesy".

It was Shawn's birthday today, so he was going to celebrate later by going out with friends.

Christine is a barista at World Cup Coffee in Powell's. When I told her she was stranger number 47, she wrote it down and told me she would keep it as her lucky number for the day.

Nick had just finished shopping in Buffalo Exchange on Burnside.

Anthony was just leaving The Roxy to go to the Dollar Tree to go buy toilet paper in the true fashion of a college student.

Age: 19
Ruby is a student at PSU and she's double majoring in World languages and Literature and Criminology. She got her first student loan today so it was a bit of a strange day for her.
Stranger 42:

Age: 35
Sol was working at The Roxy as a server. When I told him he was lucky to be number 42, as it is the answer to the universe (according to The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy) he said he was honoured and had so far enjoyed being number 42.

Katie was making coffee in the Stumptown attached to the Ace Hotel on Stark.

Age: 31
Zachary was just finishing his shift at Stumptown and counting his tips when I took his photograph. He's been working there since November, and he enjoys the job because he gets to meet lots of new people from the Ace Hotel.

Donovan was working behind the desk at the Ace Hotel and in his spare time he is a soul singer. He normally has gigs down in Savoy on South East Clinton.

Aaron was finishing up lunch at the food carts with his friend, Seth.

Age: 39
Seth had just had lunch and was about to ride back over the bridges to his job on the East Side.

Julie was traveling with her daughter to visit Reed college. They were shopping in the vintage shop Magpie (on 9th and Alder)

Age: 17
Flora was with her mum, Julie and was on her way to visit Reed college. She's a high school senior from New York.

Marissa was working in Magpie when I took her photograph. She told me that she hadn't had enough coffee today.

Juan was hanging out with his friend Angel. He was visiting from Ashland where he lives. He's a freelance videographer.

Angel is visiting Juan from Hawaii - they were getting Greek food from the same food cart that we were so we photographed them while we were waiting for our food.
