April 17th 2011

This weekend, I shot more strangers focusing more on the downtown areas such as Pioneer Square and outside the library. It was funny as I had a few extremely quiet people, who didn't mind me taking their picture but they didn't want to say much, and then others who just enjoyed talking for a while, meaning that I really got along with them and got really interesting photographs and backstories for their portraits. Due to being ill last week, I don't have as many portraits as I'd planned to have this week, but I am planning on taking photographs everyday this week (phew!) so even though it will be a lot of work, I hope to have about 35 portraits by April 24th - wish me luck!

Stranger 16:

Damion was playing his banjo with Katy. He likes pie.

Stranger 15:

Katy was playing music for tips and beer downtown by the MAX stop and is an avid blogger.

Stranger 14:
Name: Koi
Age: 20
Koi was playing his guitar outside of Nordstroms and trying to make enough money to get to Eugene. He has a Simba tattoo on his right arm, that he got for free off a friend and another friend pierced his nose in the woods. Koi believed in staying happy, no matter what you're doing or where you are.

Stranger 13:
Name: LeDoux
Age: 67
LeDoux was reading and having coffee, enjoying the Portland weather. "You're a stranger, you're getting nothing out of me"

Stranger 12:
Name: Valerie
Age: 46
Valerie was handing out protest fliers outside of Nordstroms protesting their use of labour. All she wanted to say was "Shame on Portland"

Stranger 11:
Name: Ryan
Age: 20
Ryan was passing time downtown, avoiding the rain while smoking a cigarette under an awning. He lives on the streets and doesn't have a job but said all we can ever do is wait for the rain to stop.
